You can see the dogs racing and the tellers using hand signals to take the bets.

my dad as a child used to watch the dog racing there after playing on all the bombsites,,then the Speedway in his 20s.

The Orient fans who filled the away (South?) stand started with some enthusiasm but got quieter as the game wore on into a drab 0-0 draw. Be warned, there is nowhere to get a beer once you are in the Family stand, just a kiosk for soft drinks, pies and crisps etc.

When it comes to atmosphere, few match Villa Park and the passionate supporters. To put it short……. Villa Park is the grand old lady of football, not just here in England but worldwide . Founding fathers.

Coming from England and experiencing my first MSL game and stadium it was excellent. Even with just the lower tier used it still had a great atmosphere, different from games in the UK but just what I expected. And the icing on the cake, it had plenty of shops and restaurants on site so the misses could go shopping while I watched the game. Happy days, what more would a bloke want.

The game against Kaiserslautern was sold out online, the fan friendship between the two teams making this one of the big matches of the season. However, we arrived fairly early and the ticket windows were selling tickets on the home terrace.
The ground is certainly a bit tatty but there was plenty of beer available and sufficient toilets to cope. Before the game masked Ultras raised a banner and set off multiple smoke bombs. Everyone was friendly and happy to talk to tourists in town for Oktoberfest. The singing was constant and the terrace bouncing – it was like England used to be thirty years ago but probably more good natured. 1860 won 3-1 and my mate managed to miss 3 goals during one trip to the toilet. Best day out I’ve had at a football ground in years.

It was easy to get to from city centre. No bars nearby only a supporters home for a pre match beer. As an international city i could hear several languages being spoken. Probably due to their big friendships with Legia Warsaw, Juventus and FC Bruges.

There is a great view of the pitch from all seats. Crowds average around 11 000, but it sounds more like 30,000.

Unlike most stadiums where the atmosphere comes from one area, normally behind one of the goals, at ADO the noise come from Vak G behind the goal and from the Midden Noord on the long side (North side) of the ground. This makes for an amazing experience when both zones chant at each other.

The supporters are also well known for the amazing banners they produce, some of the best artwork you’ll see in any stadium.

As a foreign visitor, i found the locals to bevery friendly. When they heard me speaking English they spoke to me, eager to tell me about the club and why i was visiting. I was made to feel really welcome.

I’ve now been several times and loved it. Friends who have joined me who are also ground hoppers agree, a special club that makes you feel at home and the locals that make you feel you belong there.

We used to love comparing the immaculate pitch in the programme with the quagmire that was our twelfth man. Football heaven, except fot the mens’ loo!

First, I was waiting to change buses from the airport to city centre around the corner so decided to wander down and speculatively see if I could do a tour. The guys on the desk were great and let me in for a guided tour in English. Off memory I think it cost around 1,200 HUF (Around £3.50) which was excellent value and was shown around the dressing room, referees room, pitch side, tunnel area and the museum. They were then able to register me for the fancard as stated.

I then went again to watch a game a couple of month’s later. It was a Sunday evening game, dark, cold, chilly. I would prehaps recommend getting off the metro at station Navgared Ter which is one stop before Nepliget – it is literally five minutes walk down the same road but not quite as crowded getting on or off.

I would also recommend foreigners take ID with them as the stewards wanted to check mine matched the ticket.

It was a top-v-bottom of the league clash, the stadium was maybe 3/4 full at best, there were a few empty seats in clusters here and there. From what I remember Ferencvaros won 4-0. There were food stalls and merchandise sellers around the ground outside and food and beer (usual sort of beverages available) from the kiosk. I did see a few people taking in some lángos to eat from home as well.
